I am now ready to take on projects for other photographers, designers, artists etc. If you want to build a new portfolio, have a special one off project perhaps, or if you have to put together a book of work from a grant funded project, for example, then perhaps I can be of assistance. There are studios and binderies that can produce gorgeous books but they are very expensive. I can do the same thing for a reasonable price.
I tend to use Fuji Crystal Archive Matt c-type prints which are inexpensive and quick to produce. But I also like to use good inkjet prints. As a calligrapher I use handwriting for my books but can also typeset (having trained as a graphic designer in the 80s). When I use calligraphy the books will have a variety of paper types, sometimes including vellum. I also have a variety of cover styles, from soft to hard.
I try to use as little glue as possible. This speeds up the process and reduces risk of any damage to photographs over a long period of time. I always use strong, archival PH neutral tape to bind the pages and cover. I also add a layer of UV protection to the cover photograph though not all covers need a photograph.
My preference is to make books of double page spreads to take full advantage of the lay flat facility. Using the spread as a canvas I carefully position the image so as not to put vital information in the way of the fold, as you’ll see in the video.
Please do not hesitate to contact me should you be interested in working with me.

Thank you for your time.
